Tear of Dust is composed in memory of Princess Galyani Vadhana who passed away on 2 January thewatchmenshop 2008. It was a great lost for Thailand as well as the music society for the entire country. Her Royal Highness was interested in all types of music and drama, especially classical music. After she passed away, there was a mourning period of 100 days and the whole nation would wear black for 15 days. Tear of Dust is commissioned by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra for the memorial concert. She was the patron of the and a great supporter of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Her presence on the classical music scene was ubiquitous. The lost of Princess Galyani is greatly impact to the Classical Music in Thailand. It is a metaphor to compare the people with the dust because dust came from many various sources but sharing the same element as a dry object. In this case even a dry smallest dust cries for the lost of Her Royal Highness. "
